Excited

With all of the new ideas that are constantly appearing in technology these days, I am very excited to be learning more about technology and the classroom. I am also very excited to see what my own classroom will have in store for me and my students.

Communication

I had the opportunity to be able to work for a company that helped children with disabilities. One of the young boys that I worked with was not able to communicate vocally, so he had a speaking device. He could input phrases and words into the machine so that they would be ready at the push of a button.

Accessibility

I find it amazing how far the internet has come, from being a cord and a box connecting your computer to the wall, to a flash drive that you can take virtually any where you go. With this advance in technology, a teacher could transform a field trip into a lesson on the go.

Use of computer

In my classes at BSU, I like how the professors are able to put whatever they see or are doing on their computers up on a projection screen for the whole class to see. This is an amazing tool for teachers to be able to use, allowing them to be able to pull stuff up from the internet that they have found and to share it with their class.

Computers in the classroom

My six-year-old daughter has three computers in her Kindergarten class. When I was growing up the only place you would find a computer, at school, was in the library. I think it is a great tool to have in the classroom. This allows students to learn how to use computers at a young age and they are also great teaching aids.
